Sarubobo

A tiny sarubobo, intended to be hung from a mobile phoneA sarubobo is a Japanese amulet, particularly associated with the town of Takayama in Gifu prefecture. Sarubobos are red human-shaped dolls, with no facial features, made in a variety of sizes. Traditionally, sarubobos are made by grandmothers for their grandchildren as dolls, and for their daughters as a charm for good marriage, good children and to ensure a well-rounded couple.

Many Handicrafts as lil gifts and Sarubobo (mommy and baby)
After making diaper cakes, I realised that making lil accessories for it brightens the diaper cake and making it more personalised and sincere. Thus, I began to search through internet for tutorials for handicrafts. Among my searches, there are many helpful tutorials for making pouches, coasters etc. My interest in handmade craft grew. The latest found was the Sarubobo (by Mairuru). The steps given are simple and easy to follow.
